Methodist Home for Children
About the Mission.
We work with children who’ve been neglected, abused, and traumatized • We work with adults who lack basic coping and parenting skills • We work with juvenile offenders who are unparented, failing in school, looking for acceptance in all the wrong places • We work with teens who are struggling with mental illness and substance abuse • We work with children who are diagnosed with severe emotional and developmental disorders • We work with preschoolers who are at risk already for falling behind in life.
Our Involvement.
WUMC supports the Methodist Home for Children throughout the year with the three drives listed below. You may shop for your donated items or give a donation for items to be purchased. Donations can be submitted online, through Text2Give, or by check.
Cases for Kidz
We partner with the Methodist Home for Children to donate new suitcases and duffle bags for the children.
Christmas in July
We partner with the Methodist Home for Children in downtown Raleigh to get their school year started right and show God’s love by providing backpacks with school supplies & gift cards.
Angel Tree
Each Advent season we partner with the Methodist Home for Children in downtown Raleigh to spread the joy and love of Christmas.
