DESCRIPTION:This June\, Wakefield United Methodist Church’s youth group will embark on a transformative week of service with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP)\, a mission dedicated to making homes warmer\, safer\, and drier for families in need across Central Appalachia. \nFrom June 21 – 27\, our youth and adult volunteers will travel to an ASP partner community to assist with critical home repair projects. This trip is more than just construction—it’s about building relationships\, growing in faith\, and experiencing the power of serving others with compassion and humility. \nPlease keep our team in your prayers as they prepare for this journey of hard work\, spiritual growth\, and meaningful connection. Let’s send them off with love and support as they become the hands and feet of Christ in Appalachia!

DESCRIPTION:Sign up to donate blood at Wakefield UMC’s next The Blood Connection blood drive!  \nDate: Thursday\, July 2 \nTime: 2:30 – 6 pm \nLocation: Bloodmobile in our Wakefield UMC parking lot \nSignup: At this link. \nDonors will be given $30 in rewards to be redeemed within 30 days. Wakefield UMC will receive $10 per donor for our church missions. \nEach donation helps to save up to 3 lives\, or 8 babies. The Blood Connection is the main provider of blood products for over 127 hospitals in North Carolina and the region\, so it’s essential for our community to come out to donate regularly to support patients and our local blood supply. The average shelf life of a blood product is about six weeks\, which means that when someone donates with us—that donation will be helping someone shortly thereafter. \nDonors need to be at least 16 years old (16 & 17-year-olds need a permission slip which will be at the blood drive)\, weigh at least 110 pounds\, bring their ID\, and be in general good health.
